The Biogas Association of Ghana has collaborated with the Ghana Alliance for Clean Cookstoves and Fuels in advocating for the Clean Cooking during the 5th GHACCO Anniversary and the Annual GHACCO Forum. The programme with took place from 30th – 31st October, 2018 at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly on the theme: “Translating Sector Commitments into Scalable Market Impacts”.
The “Clean Cookstoves and Fuels Forum”, brought together stakeholders of the Sector and promoted synergy and leveraging of the different mandates, capacities, expertise, and exposures for a concerted National response and actions for achieving goals, objectives and targets under Ghana’s Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL) Programme.
During the Forum, it was announced that universal access to clean and modern cooking technologies (thus, fuels and devices) in Ghana is an integral element of ensuring that the broader aims of SDG 7 — “Universal Access to Modern Energy Services” . Thus, the forum was geared on analyzing and reviewing what Cooking solutions can advance other SDGs, including good health and well-being, gender equality, climate action, and eliminating poverty.
